Quinoa has recently become famous for its health benefits, affordability, and versatility, but is it safe for our pooches to eat?

The short answer is yes. Quinoa can be fed to dogs, although only in moderation. However, it should not be the main component of your dog's diet.

Quinoa produces a chemical called saponin that can interfere with your dog's gut health and cause intestinal irritation.

Although, the majority agrees that the amount of this chemical is too little to impact your dog's health.

Further, due to being high in fiber, quinoa can be great for dogs who are used to having a fiber-rich diet.

However, dogs not accustomed to consuming fiber-rich foods may face some gut issues, including vomiting and diarrhea.

Therefore, when serving your dog quinoa, feed a small amount initially and look out for any symptoms.

Lastly, don't forget to seek veterinary guidance before adding this new food to your dog's diet to rule out the risk of allergies.
